The CJAHS is a volunteer, non profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated
to preserving and presenting the history of the Japanese American
community in Chicago.

The group provides a condensed but comprehensive historical
presentation composed of over 300 historical photos from the 1930’s
and 1940’s depicting the tragic experience of Japanese Americans
during WWII in the U.S.

CJAHS partners with museums around Chicago including: The Chicago
History Museum, the National Museum of Mexican Art, and The Polish
Museum of America.

The group maintains an archive of documents and artifacts primarily
related to the internment experience and the postwar resettlement
in Chicago. Currently, some items are on permanent display at the
Chicago History Museum.

CJAHS also has a collection of narratives in written and video form
about Japanese Americans in Chicago.
